Artist and activist Natalie White isn’t an actress, but she did appear in one movie, as a Topless Warrior in the comedy drama protest flick, Free the Nipple (2014). Not only is she one of a group of women who, in real life, took to the streets of New York City sans any form of wardrobe above the waist to make a point about censorship, but prior to her run, she meets with the film’s stars Lola Kirke and Lina Esco (who also co-wrote the film and directed it), and flips up her T-shirt to show off her magnificent globes, natural and more than a perfect handful. It’s not a surprise Natalie would make this her one film appearance, as the female is a big proponent of women’s rights, having organized an epic march from New York City to the steps of the Capital in Washington DC in 2016, protesting the lack of ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. The march kicked off with a gallery exhibition of Natalie’s work, including prints, video, sculpture, and collages all related to being a woman, and the disadvantages they’ve faced through the years. Mr. Skin would like to believe Natalie approves of Skin Central, based on the advice she would offer to young women of the world: “Live for yourself. Don’t do things because your future partner or future children might not approve when they find out.” And that pretty much describes every woman who ever chose to drop their tops in protest, or every actress who flung off their bra on screen in the name of their chosen art.
